Salma Crump: Blogger, Autism Advocate

My name is Salma Crump. I’m in the Marketing & PR field.

Kuba is my son who was diagnosed with Autism when he was 3. Charlton, is his dad and my man, my lover, my partner – He’s not my boyfriend. I think I’m too old to be using that term to describe a person who among other things I’m intimate with. Friends think I’m nuts.

Anyway, moving right along… No pets for now but thinking (3, 4, 5 years now) about getting a dog… And no, we don’t have commitment issues. It’s just complicated.

Why did I start a blog? I needed the therapy. I live on a small Caribbean island and have been very vocal about Autism Awareness (here some families are still hiding their children away or they have no support) so I wanted a place to talk about some of that. Plus everything else that goes on in our normal life. My “normal” may not be your “normal” and if you don’t agree with something I say… It’s you not me.

Assume everything on the site is copyrighted and cannot be reprinted without the expressed consent of Salma Crump. So if you see something you like (you need to have your head examined – Totally kidding) just ask. Most likely I will say “yes” unless it requires a “no”.

P.S. If you’re a newbie, here are some posts to get your feet wet. Go ahead… Once your boss is not a “total wiener” it’s safe for work.

Hi Salma, I did not know that you have this blog. Congrats!!! Please, send me regards to Kuba.

Thanks Alvaro. Hope you and the family are doing well.

Thank you for sharing. You have a warm writing style that makes me feel ready to stop over for tea – lucky for you, I don’t have your address!

I think I may have gone to school with you. Do you have cousins named Judith and Reba? My name is Nghi Van.

I just read through your posts! I love your honesty and your humor, I look forward to reading more.
God Bless 🙂
